Hey guys I didn’t post much after my dad was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer in 2021. He has since passed away - he lost his battle on Saturday 2nd September 2023. It has been the most traumatic experience and journey that I have ever endured and since he passed I feel I have no purpose anymore. The feelings of losing him consume me. I don’t know how to move on.

  • Hello, just wanted to reach out and say I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad in 2021, and now my mum is battling lung cancer. It’s a long and difficult road. Grief can be so overwhelming. Do you have any family or friends you can turn to for support?

  • Hi  I am so sorry about your loss. I lost my own mother up ovarian cancer, so I know how hard it is to lose a parent. Can I suggest you look at joining the Bereaved family and friends forum  where you can meet other people who are in a similar situation to yourself.

  • Oh sorry sorry sorry it’s such a loss to lose one of your parents but I m sure they knew you were there and were grateful for the comfort it must have bought them to have you close

  • Hi ,  I’m so sorry for your loss ,  I lost my mum very quickly to MND during Covid  at the time and like yourself I was devastated .  As a coping mechanism I busied myself , planted a rose bush  what helped me most I got counselling with cruse . It allowed me to talk about my experience of what we went through .  What about reaching out to your gp first thing on Monday . Was your dad linked to a hospice ? Can you contact them for support . I know my one will help family .

  • Ah sorry to hear you are now going through it again I m a mum of 3 and 8 grandchildren and I ve been fighting lung cancer and had alobectomy a year ago but they all help me to fight So I m in the clear at the moment just living with several fractures that have set me back but you see I am still here because this family give me a reason to fight so I m sure your mum feels the same good luck and I hope she gets all the attention she needs

  • Sorry my reply was to Reb A
