After 7 months of fighting small cell lung cancer my mum went through chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy and the cancer still managed to spread into her brain. We were preparing for our final Christmas together and within a matter of days she is in palliative care. It was so unexpected and neither of us were prepared for things to happen this fast. How did everyone else cope with situations like this? This is my first time living alone and dealing with everything. Treatment was going so well then she just couldn’t walk one day. I am beyond heartbroken and don’t even know how to process my emotions at the moment
Hi Jen98
So very sorry that your Mum is now in palliative care.
Would it be possible to talk to a member of staff where your Mum is receiving her current care? The staff there will be used to helping the relatives of their patients to cope and get through this very sad and emotional time.
Try to cherish the time you have left with your Mum.
Kegsy x
