Hi guys sorry I’ve not posted much but to be honest I struggle to get around this website.

My husband has finally had radiotherapy one week ago. He was in a lot of pain for about a week.

He also had his first cycle of chemo on Thursday and so far so good only tiredness and hiccups as side effects but he is only 2 days in so we will see but got everything crossed. I hope you are all doing well and not suffering too much

  • Hello Tessa B

Welcome to the Community. It is fine to post as little or as much as you want- it is entirely up to you so please do not worry. I understand that it is quite a big website so if it is ok I will post some links on here that you might find helpful.

I am sorry to see that your husband has been diagnosed with Lung cancer. It is a worrying time for you both and although we can not take that away from you we can hopefully offer you some support.

I see that your husband has had some radiotherapy but am sorry to see he had some pain after it. I hope that any pain has eased.

I hope your husband is still managing following his chemotherapy last Thursday. I had chemotherapy myself and did find I became very tired afterwards and also it affected my tummy. I did find during chemotherapy that I was well monitored by the hospital and was given a phone number that I could call for any side effects or worries. When I did have side effects they were able to be managed with treatments. It maybe that your husband has been given a book to note his side effects in and I would encourage you both to write them down to let the nurses know how it is affecting him. I also found that each cycle I had was similar so it helped to be able to look back so I knew what to expect.
