Hi All, my partner had his 3 monthly scan results yesterday from oncologist, well there is good and bad news, the good news is that the immunotherapy is still keeping his bone cancer stable and the bad news is that the primary lung cancer has grown from 3.5cm to 5.5cm so that means his treatment has stopped working for his lung cancer, the oncologist did say maybe he can ask a radiotherapist if it is possible if sean can have targeted radiotherapy to that one part of his lung where the primary cancer is, the oncologist did ask one of the best radiotherapist this question and the answer was no, so the O/C is going to ask another top radiotherapist the same question today if it is possible. sorry if this don't make sense but to honest nothing does anymore
On Wednesday 22/2 i at to do a 999 call out for an Ambulance due to partner being in so much pain in his lower back and all down his right leg, the chemo nurse thought it might be a nerve compression as partner could not pass urine and has lost his mobility. The hospital said it is not a compressed spinal cord nerve that is causing the pain , but unfortunately it is the cancer in his spine which is now effecting his L4 and L5 disc . partner is booked in to have 13 sessions of radiotherapy on the 28th of this month for his primary lung cancer, but we have to wait until tomorrow to see if partner can have radiotherapy on his spine to get his mobility back. Partner has now been in hospital for the past 8 days and yesterday it was suggested by the palliative care team that partner can go in to an hospice to get his pain under control and have respite, just waiting on St Giles to get back in touch with hospital to say there is a bed available for him.
Thanks Netty
Hi Internet I am just wondering how your partner is doing? X
Hi Chelle, partner went tn to hospice on Monday to try and get his pain under control, does not look like there will be anymore treatment offered to sean but we will have it confirmed with oncologist on the 13th of March. we are having a hospital bed delivered to out home tomorrow, Sean has got a little mobility back but still in pain. Sean is coming home on Friday so i will care for him. Ty Chelle for asking xx
Hi Netty. I'm sorry to learn of what your partner is going through, not forgetting how this must be affecting you and family. Many of us have close friends and family that have had or are sufferingith this illness that comes in many forms! I hope you both have the strength to deal with this. My late brother was diagnosed towards the end of his life, with cancer and he was admitted to a Phylli
tuckwell hospice. They couldn't do enough for both him and family. So peaceful at the end, I even stayed the night to save a family member from collecting me late at night. God bless
Jane
Hi JanDeb thank you and i am so sorry for the loss of your brother, unfortunately i have had bad news today as i have been told that my partner has only weeks left to live i am struggling to get my head round it.,we have had the hospital bed delivered today ready for when sean comes home tomorrow, but i am finding it difficult to go in that room where the bed is to sleep in there, so i am sleeping on the settee
Netty xx
Thanks for the prompt reply Netty. I understand what you are saying. My bf is poorly and he can only sleep on the sofa to get comfortable with an enlarged hernia! His pills made him unwell last night, bless him. Just remember you are not alone luv. Take care. Jdeb x
