Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone is aware of when keyhole is used verses open for an upper right lobectomy. I am awaiting apmt to discuss with surgeon but am keen to know why / when either is selected. Recently having a full hysterectomy due to womb cancer (unconnected) I have to say I made a very speedy recovery with a lot less scarring.

Thank you Chelle, had another set back today. Consultant called after the MDT not with an apmt as I had hoped. The CT I had Sunday has raised more questions on other lobes not seen on previous Prt in Nov also 
something about gland in my neck. Another PET as an and ultra sound required now by surgeon! so not only the worry it could be worse than first thought and mean a different plan the delay to any plan is driving me mad!

oh no! I am so sorry to hear that plans have now changed. You get your mind all set on one thing, and it changes last minute. A cancer journey really is a rollercoaster ride, just as you feel you are on the ground, you are flung into the air again.
I know it is hard, but it has to be the right plan, or it is just a waste of time. So I know it feels at the moment the delay is frustrating, but you need to get all the correct box's ticked.
Let today be the day when you feel angry and frustrated, but tomorrow start again with positivity. Get the scans done and move ahead to treatment. Sending you a hug x
