Hi all I’ve had my appointment today at the Freeman hospital Northern Cancer Care Until my doctor was lovely explaining things to us I’m going to get another appointment through the post for another scan and get my tattoos on then get my date to start SABR Radiotherapy. I always thought they was just one Radiotherapy like just one type but apparently not there’s different ones anyway I feel much happier now knowing that I’m going to receive treatment to get rid of this dreadful disease and hopefully this time it won’t come back , love Yvonne xx

  • Hi  it is great to hear that your treatment will be starting soon. SABR radiotherapy uses a target beam so it only gets the tumour and not the surrounding tissue. Radiotherapy can be a very successful treatment for lung cancer.  I definitely got good results from it.

I'll pop a link to an information sheet for you below.

  • Thank you so very very much this information is so helpful I’ve printed it off (well my daughter did) because I can’t work laptops or computers it takes me a while to work my phone but thank you so much for your help support and kindness love Yvonne xx

  • Hi Yvonne

I had SBRT/SABR and there is more involved in setting it up than there is in the treatment itself.

I had 4 sessions over 2 weeks.  Some people have 5.
