hi everyone I’m not normally a angry person but I am feeling so angry? I’m just snapping at everyone and everything especially my poor hubby Steve I was diagnosed with lung cancer on the 19th December and I had my brain scan today with contrast. I had breast cancer in 2014 had operation, treatment and medication and had the all clear since then and I can’t remember feeling like this? I could just scream and pull my hair out, I’m angry, upset, crying, taking everything personally, taking everything to heart I can’t understand this I could scream at everyone and everything and I’m not like this person I think I’m going crazy xx

  • If you don't mind me asking, Yvonne. What medications are you on at the moment? I've got epilepsy as a result of a grade iii brain tumour, and my anti-seizure medication was causing the exact same feelings you're describing.

  • Hi hon I’m on Citalopram , Pregablin and inhalers for my copd and emphysema and eye drops for my Glaucoma. They just did brain scan so they can start me on the correct treatment for my lung cancer but I feel so angry at everyone and everything hon xx

  • Hi Yvonne , I think all our emotions are perfectly valid including anger …. Why shouldn’t you be angry , it sucks being told you have LC especially as you’ve been through a cancer episode before … I went through and still do the full range of emotions from upset , fear , anger and I found it useful to come on here and vent and the people on here  were so supportive  , I also spoke to the helpline in here quite often , they were amazing for just listening or offering nurse advice if I needed it and I also took up their offer of 6 free counselling sessions which have helped enormously… just remember that your feelings are valid …. Elly x

  • Hi  I am so sorry you are going through this. Your diagnoses is still very new to you, and a brain scan is scary, anyone would have anxiety over the thought of it. I am not surprised you feel the way you do, I’d be angry too!!

I agree with  counselling does help. Your GP can arrange this for you, or give Macmillan a call on 0808 808 00 00.

We are always here to listen, so feel free to come and off load whenever you want xx
