Hi,
I am new here. My brother has lung cancer diagnosed in January this year. Had six rounds of chemo two failed EBUS. He was told that there is nothing more they can do. My question is does anyone have paraneoplastic cerebellum disease/syndrome as part of there illness? I know it’s very rare and there is little to no advice out there. We are really struggling he is on palliative care just looking for advice. Thanks for reading xx
Hi Serendipity
I do not have the cerebellum version; however, I do have paraneoplastic syndrome (PNS) caused by my SCLC. It was the increasing effects of the PNS that got me to the GP, which led to the SCLC diagnosis. There was a small chance that the PNS would go away after the chemo; unfortunately, it didn't. and I have had to learn to live with it. Luckily my symptom is the kinder peripheral neuropathy, which is only in my limbs.
As the cancer treatments hasn't had a positive impact on your brother's PN cerebellum syndrome, has he tried immunosuppressants?
I am so sorry that this is the only contribution I can offer.
Kegsy x
