  • Hi Shelzy

I’m sorry you find yourself here with your husband’s diagnosis of cancer.
If you care to read my profile (click on my name and it will take you to my profile) you will see that my husband was diagnosed last June and has also been treated with the same combination of pemetrexed, carboplatin and pembrolizumab. His side effects were fatigue, varying appetite and constipation. He also had a liver reaction (which is not so common) which was treated with steroids and delayed his second cycle. However he had four cycles of the pemetrexed, carboplatin and pembrolizumab and was then told after a CT scan that some of the tumours had shrunk which was brilliant. Since January he has been on pemetrexed and pembrolizumab only as “maintenance “ and is still doing okay. The main side effect is still fatigue and his appetite varies from day to day.
I hope your husband is able to continue with treatment and his side effects are able to be managed.

  • Hi

I have had this combination and have found the fatigue. Is quite common. It comes from nowhere , one minute your pottering about doing something then bang your body  feels so weak you just want to lie down. My appetite has been fine , vey thirsty but that’s ok. I’ve piled the weigh on and I wondered if that was contributing to the lethargy.
