Braless after lung surgery!

Hi there , I have just had a lumpectomy on my left lung which has left its wound under my left arm just where the side of a bra would go. At the moment that area is a bit too tender to wear a bra so I have got floppy boobs. I am not looking for a glamorous look, just a more controlled look. Can anyone recommend a suitable type of bra I could try please?

  • Hi lost voice. I get a lot of rib pain so I wear what they call t shirt bras. They have no wires or clasps. You pull it on over your head like a garment, it’s stretchy, but I buy them one size up for more comfort.

I found a front fastening bra on amazon which I really like.  I don’t like struggling with the over the head bras. Hope you find something you like x Maz x

  • Hi Lost voice,  I bought a surgical bra from M&S, they’re very well made, pleasant but  functional, it’s M&S lol. I used mine with a bra hook extender that I bought from Amazon, the combo made a world of difference, still got the support but no tight bits or digging in etc and when my surgery healed up I ditched the extender and used the bra as a sleep bra, so win win. Hope your recovery is speedy! H x

  • Thank you, I'll give that a try.

  • Thank you, I have a front fastening bra but it just contacts at the sensitive place just now. They are easier than over the head.

  • Thanks, I should have thought of M&S!

I haven’t had surgery for mine as I also have a lung disease but I was finding it a struggle to breath with restrictive bras so this front fastener is a boon
