Hello all

My hubby has prostate cancer diagnosed a year ago not treatable but curable. He has completed 6 round of chemo and cancer in lymph has shrunk fown and psa refuced to 0.67. However after a ct scan dr phoned today to ssy he has 2 small nodules in his left lung they are sayingbits cancer. He has been refered for a Pet scan and breathing test. Im devastated hubby taking it in his stride. Do ct scans ever misdiagnose lung cancer..sorry for rambling

  • Hi Strawhead

    Firstly, a big hello

I am so sorry to hear of your husbands diagnosis and I send a big hug to you both

You ask if CT scans can misdiagnose cancer, the answer is yes they can, as they show up areas of concern but are not definite in there conclusion. That’s why they Have referred for a PET scan, which will indicate/ identify cancer or not.

You mention a breathing test and this will probably be for any possible plan of care they will suggest.

I know this is a horrible and scary time for you both, and your reaction and feelings are perfectly normal. We are all scared, when told we have this terrible disease, loved ones and those with the Cancer diagnoses, but when you are given a plan of what the next steps, treatment entail, you will feel more in control and stronger.

Please feel free to ask any questions, there are loads of lovely people on this site, who can give practical and informative information
