Hello all

My hubby has prostate cancer and its spread to his left lymph node He had a ct scan results yesterday and told there is a 2cm nodule on his left lung and nodule on his kidney. Forgive my ignorance but is this in anyones opinion treatable ? Sorry for gabbling 4 nights with no sleep will.do that. They said they will prob do biopsies on lung and kidney. im just so worried.

  • Hi

So very sorry that you have cause to be on here.

Yes lung nodules are treatable; how they treat the lung nodule will very much depend on the results of the biopsy. Not all lung nodules are cancerous and they may decide to just monitor it over time.

I hope the nodules turn out to be benign; however should they be cancerous please take comfort that the treatment of lung cancer has improved tremendously in the last few years and it is no longer the automatic death sentence it once was. There are many of us on here who have/are surviving lung cancer.

Please let us all know when the results of the biopsy is known.

    Hi Kegsy

Thanks for taking time to reply. I will try and calm down a bit as you know it all gets overwhelming. My husband been calm and positive tho i suspect a lot of that is for my benefit. Dr did say that he was concerned about something he had seen that seemed rare ??? was hard to listen to his phone call and we should have recorded call but we were but shocked by his information. Plus there is something in kidney too...onwards and upwards. Take care

    Hi Strawhead

Yes I am sure they will be putting together a correct plan in order to treat.

They will want to biopsy them to understand if the growths are indeed cancerous and if so if they are a spread of his primary prostate cancer or new primarys.

Dependent on the results, there are lots of things they can do, dependent on your husbands other health. These can include a variety of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and possibly targeted treatment, or immunotherapy. Or a mixture of all of them all.

So do not panic just yet, lots can be done to help him. They will get all these tests done and come back to you with a plan on what you can say yes or no or compromise on what you accept.
