Hi everyone. I've had a cough, shortness of breath, lost 15lb and had nightly sweats since new year. My dr sent me for xray which resulted in having a CT scan I was told this week that the lymph glands down each side of my breast bone are 2cm. I've got to have an Ebus biopsy soon. My bloods show I do not have any infection. Does anyone know of any benign reasons apart from infection that cause lymph glands to swell. The consultant talked about the possibility of lung cancer or lymphoma. I am scared.also I feel tight in my chest which I understand is normal but I ache between the shoulder blades. Did anyone else ache between the shoulder blades. I'm worried I'm Imagining it. Thank you karen
Hi sorry to hear you are unwell . I can imagine how scary things are . My dad who has lung cancer had , shortness of breath due to fluid on the lungs , he had night sweats and shoulder pain , he had chest tightness which felt like someone was hugging him from behind he also said he felt shivers like someone was walking over his grave . He had no Issues with his lymph nodes but he was told there could be a benign reason for all the symptoms. Did they see anything on the scans at all
lots of love And best wishes
Thank you. I think benign reasons are infection. It's hard waiting for tests and results. I feel tired and not able to concentrate. I hope your dad is doing well. Xxx
Hi Karensamabby
Hello and welcome to us
Sorry it's a bit delayed, just managed to catch this one before it slipped off the front page of discussions of the thread.
Sorry my biopsy was a needle one, so I can personally not help, or think of anyone off the top of my head that had an EBUS biopsy. I will search the group now for you and put a link below of any threads that mention EBUS for you to read. Would suggest for reading only as say a year or more ago things have likely moved on or changed for the original poster.
Ebus threads if you click the green writing there it will take you to the threads that mention Ebus.
Just take gentle steps at a time, once tests are done and they now more they can fill you in on the possibilities and what the causes may be and if treatment is needed what they should involve.
When we worry we can definitely imagine 'new symptoms' the mind takes over and we stress about anything slightly new or didn't think about before. Just keep talking and posting and we will help you get through this very difficult, bewildering, overwhelming stage.
I hope this helps.
Thank you it does. It's like life is on hold and I cant concentrate or enjoy anything at the moment .
