Hi all, so, I saw my consultant on Monday, due to start chemo on Monday 17th, 2 x 3 weekly cycles, then move to another hospital for another 2 x 3 weekly cycles with targeted radiotherapy every day for 6 weeks. This is with intent to cure. She said after this we would go on to a year's worth of immunotherapy but she hasn't discussed this in any detail with me as yet. She also gave us statistics and survival percentages. My hubby didn't take this very well, as he thought she would say "right we are going to do A, B, and C, that's you fit, well and cured, cheerio and have a nice life". Tried explaining they can't ever give guarantees but with the right treatment, positive attitude and can do attitude there's no reason I won't be "lucky"... And in the good percentage bracket. I'm ready to fight this with all my strength, heart and mind. Take care and stay strong all. Xx

    Hi GSD

Good to hear you have your plan in place and a start date too. Even better that they are aiming for a cure.

Plan sounds a good one, though of course it will take resilience to get through.

Please remind husband that the stats are based on patients from years ago, long before immunotherapy became available. Today's patients when our stats are released in years to come willl show a marked improvment I am absolutely sure.

Hi Ginajsy, I totally agree with you about the stats, I'm going into this with absolute confidence... I'm under no illusions and not for a minute do I think this will be a walk in the park but my mind is stronger than my body at the moment. I can and will do this. GrrrrrMuscle
