Hi I’ve just joined this group. My dad (he’s only 65) has mestatic SCLC In His right lung localised to the chest area. Plural fluid etc . He starts chemo today. They haven’t really staged him by number just an M for mestatic and he won’t talk about prognoses . He has an aweful cough which he seems to think is reacurring chest infections. It does sometimes get a bit better after antibiotics. There are no recent discussions talking about coughing as a part of the disease so wondered what everyone’s experiences and advice is on the coughing. I know of course that’s it’s linked but does it mean things are rely severe?
Hi
During the long diagnosis process for SCLC, I developed a very irritating dry cough. The first cycle of chemo totally eradicated the cough, much to the relief of my work colleagues!
The positive is that SCLC general responds very quickly to chemo.
I hope this helps.
