Hi, I have cancer in left lung too, I found lying on right side helped or on back as each time lay on left got pain. I bought a back rest that keeps me sat up as found this helped with breathing as well. Hope this helps.

I also have a V pillow too and it helps as I sleep on my sides. I found putting it between my arm it forces an extra gap for my chest, rather than folding too much and more space to breathe.

Also Imac have they discussed draining off some of the fluid? I found out that I now have pleural effusion and they have said when it gets too much I will have a procedure to drain it off for me. Worth an ask if it is the same type of fluid. It's apparently done under a local so not too invasive.

Yes on initial assessment before cancer was diagnosed they took 50ml using a syringe and ultra sound so as not to damage any organs, but I'm expecting full chest drain procedure at some point,,
