So here I am in June I was told without biopsy results that I have breast cancer and lung mets.Well today I was told a more professional oncologist that I don't have any mets even my bone scan was clear but I have a primary lung cancer. Some oncologist are just so unprofessional assuming from 1 CT scan that it's a metastasis.
So I had my biopsy results today and had a different doctor. What a difference it's make if you speak to a person who cares.
At least this doctor didn't tell me I am going to die soon and he said I have lots of treatment options and I just might have oral chemo only. I am not excited but at least I know I will be still here for a while.
NOW I have the mood to fight I know there is still something to fight for.
hi Denisa welcome to the room no one wants to join. nice to see you have a good ornacologist worth there weight in gold. mine is A1 has been so supportive from the beginning xmas 2016. without his pushing i would of gave up at the beginning lots of treatment out there now. hope he comes up with a good plan for you. if you click on names you can see what some have been through and are still here. TC.
Hi Denisa and welcome to our group.
When I was first told I had lung cancer ( I previously had womb cancer) I was told I had 6 months to live. Then I met my oncologist who put her arm around me, and said, you are not going anywhere. It will be 5 years this September, and I’m still under the same Oncologist, and I’m still stable.
You are so right, you need the encouragement and the right frame of mind, and a good oncologist are worth their weight in gold.
Hi Darlo thank you for your lovely message
I had tripple negative breast cancer in 2017 and have beaten it.Now its lung cancer but I never smoked in my life so its weird.
You should see the oncologist in June she was a nasty piece of work and uncaring. She just throw into my face my breast cancer returned and I have mets in my lungs.I had to request to be booked for lung biopsy because you just cant make diagnosis from 1 CT.I am working in the healthcare so I know a bit.She told me except chemo she cant help me.
Anyway i told oncologist i dont want to see that one from June anymore.Even its still cancer it makes all difference.
Thank you Chellessimo for your kind and supportive words.Yes different doctors have sadly different attitude.
I am really shocked because I never smoked and dont drink alcohol but I will try to stay positive.
Unfortunately there is not always an answer to why .
I tested negative to the BRAC1 gene, but have still ended up with an incurable cancer at a young age. No use dwelling, you just have to get on with the cards you are dealt.
Living life with cancer can still be good, it’s just a different life.
regards the never smoked? read the other day that 18% of females have never smoked in china it can be up to 45%, so they are thinking it may be the environment we live in. TC
