Hi - wondering if swollen lymph Nodes can be caused by a reaction to steroids? I have just received my last big blast of Chemo ( small one next week) - so I will have managed although struggled to have completed my 4 cycles. Found the chemo far worse than the surgery to remove the top RH Lobe in February.
Last week they gave me a CT Scan of the neck - but are now saying better to have an MRI as the Ct scan was ok but not as detailed. Only today i counted 5 lymph nodes under my RH arm quite large not painful - wondered if the extreme heat could have caused the swelling?
Hi cmtd,
I haven't heard of that reaction to steroids, chemotherapy or heat. I think that the medical professionals are the only ones that that can answer your question and it sounds like they are attempting to do that as the CT scan was inconclusive.
Wishing you all the best

Hi Albondigas,
thanks for your reply -
Researching it more its probably more to do with the infection in my mouth - really bad thrush - I have been on strong antibiotics for months now even while having the chemo.
I dont want to consider the other obviouse ! that it may be a sign of spread.
I am back at the hospital next Tuesday so will stop trying to self diagnose and wait and see what they have to say.
We all try and become medical specialists ourselves when getting a Cancer diagnoses -
Hope all good for you.
