I caught a cold and got the usual cough to go with it ten weeks after my last radiotherapy treatment.

I now have what feels just like a pulled chest muscle where the radiotherapy beam went and the  skin around my chest is highly sensitive to the touch.

Has anyone else suffered this sensation. I don't want to be jumping to conclusions just because I have incurable small cell cancer which is aggressive.

Thank you all for being there

  • Hi

It is probably the internal scar tissue and sensitivity from the radiotherapy. Please remember that radiotherapy continues to treat the are for a number of weeks after the last session.

Have you been told that your SCLC is incurable?

Oh thank you so much for the prompt reply. Yes I have been told it's incurable and will keep returning. The Oncologist said if I am lucky it won't return for 12 months.

I am so grateful to you for that reply scar tissue never even occurred to me talk about ignorance!!!!!
