Hello All
I thought about setting up a thread for us all to use to chat about various stuff across, so it's all in one place and newer members posts not getting pushed down and off the discussion front page before getting an answer.
I hope you are all doing well and not too stuffed on easter eggs?
I have not eaten mine yet! I went to bed friday night not feeling well and woke up Saturday with a horrid migraine throwing my guts up usually I fall asleep and sleep it off. Not so, I ended up going to the OOH doctor Sunday afternoon as was still throwing up
He gave me some lotions and potions and still not right yet. Though haven't thrown up for a few hours now. I going to try and eat something soon (not easter eggys) to see if I can manage that and see if it makes me feel better. I hate being ill! Especially on a bank holiday weekend with such nice weather. I was so looking forward to it and I have slept most of it away.
That’s great news Gina. Fingers crossed for the scan results for you. Do you have a follow up appointment yet?
Thank you both. Not yet but I am sure my oncologist will be in touch promptly once the scans been reported. I know my head is fine as they didn't try and put me on steroids a couple of weeks ago.
Ooh I've got this on my tablet..am I back on? Ty van dik....maybe...
thats good news Gina. have not heard re scan/ doctor yet. he is only in my town on a monday so guess phone call this week re appointment? at least i will get treatment this thursday morning. Hope everyone doing ok?
Hi all,
well saw the oncologist yesterday,( my usual consultant was on holiday so saw someone else).
My scan results showed that my small tumour in my right lung is stable and has not grown. My lymph nodes in my chest have reduced and my tumour markers in my bloods are down 5 points.
Hoping that this continues and feeling posiitve.
Going for my 4th chemo treatment today and then see my normal oncologist in a couple of weeks.
Gina , glad you got your insurance and work stuff sorted , it must have been very stressful, ending you positive thoughts.
Darlo, hope you get your results soon and get good news too.
Hope everyone has a good week with lots of positive things happening in 2020.
Take care all
Karen xxx
Hi Karen
That is all sounding very good! Great to hear that it seems to be working for you and only half way through the treatment. I hope that has given you a lift. Treatment is rather heavy going but when you know it's working you feel it more bearable with side effects.
Thank you, it was a little but a weight off my mind.
Today I have to find a plumber to fix a shower which I think needs replacing and I had the dentist this morning. The excitement never stops
treatment number 27 i think, done and dusted. feel good hope it lasts.
doing good Karen . lovely to see in the group long may it last. HIGina. you must work for a good company. most in the uk only pay full pay 6 months half pay 6 months
Hi Darlo, glad you got today's treatment done.
My work have been very good to me throughout. It was more that the medical insurance is provided, that I was worried about as I have been signed off a fair while I was worried about. I am sure they are doing the same, but wouldn't put too much on line about the ins and outs.
I am still waiting to hear when I will see the oncologist Darlo, I guess you are too? I will start chasing next week if I do not have a call or letter by then.
Our local hospital is on Amber Alert at the moment as there has been outbreaks of Flu and Norovirus. Plus last week the CT scanner broke down, so also could be why it's a bit go slow at the moment. With the public having to be reminded to only got to A&E if there is an actual emergency.... baffles me why people need to be reminded that is the case. It doesn't help (though I think it is a good system) that you get charged £40+ to see a doctor but hospital is free. So unfortunately people turn up at A&E instead. GP wise it's great as you can usually get an appointment that day if not the next. To stop this, I think they should be charged also at A&E if it is not an accident or emergency.
Karen that is great news. Hope the good news continues.
Well done On getting your treatment today Darlo. Hope you and Gina don’t have to wait too long until you see the oncologist.
My sisters chemo was cancelled this week as her iron was too low. She had to have another blood transfusion yesterday, but they could only give her half as her temperature was going up. Hopefully she can have chemo next week.
