My review was great..my full scan was no spread..just still in left lung only. And it is being aggressively treated ..I feel so blessed so lucky..I want everyone to have this feeling of..thank god. ..it hadn't changed in size but it hasn't grown either. It's deep in the lung so that's pkssposs why not spread. The swelling in node and glands is the rheumatoid arthritis being active..oohh yes..big thank you to my GP she said for not listening to my..I'm fine answer to her..haha..its i early days I suppose but itsi good news for me.xx

  • Well done Maggie that’s really good news. Your next scan will show shrinkage from the radiotherapy I’m sure. Xx

    That is fabulous to hear.

Ive been on here less than a week but to hear that someone who cared enough to reply to my first tentative post is wonderful.

I’m sure this is the first of many great pieces of news.

    Love

I am pleased there is no spread Maggie. Good news that it had not grown either, suggests it is a nice and slow growing one too which is a good thing.

I can't remember how many radiotherapy sessions you had before the scan, but I think it was only a couple? Mine took either week 3 or week 4 to show any sign of shrinkage. I had cone scans every day as it was attached to my spine/ribs so I had to be scanned before each treatment to ensure it didn't touch anything. Though after 4 weeks I had an Xray and a rough estimate (to my lay man eyes) it shrunk by a third. So when it starts happening it does a good job usually. Also remember radiotherapy works for up to 2 - 3 months after it finishes, so there is plenty of room for it to shrink and it will likely be your second scan after treatment ceases scan that will give you the full picture.
