Hi everyone,
I have been getting pain in my right side around my ribs for a while now. I had an horrendous chest infection at Xmas/new year and the pain in my ribs came on after some very violent coughing fits. I saw my doctor who said it was likely musculoskeletal and gave me some painkillers. It started to go away, so wasn't too bothered. However, past couple of weeks it has started getting very bad again. I went to my GP yesterday who has arranged for me to have an x-ray next week. I'm a bit nervous as the pain is so bad and I have a few other symptoms that are concerning me. I have a squeaky voice, a feeling like something is stuck in my throat all the time (although my doctor can't see anything in my throat), I'm getting breathless more than usual and I'm even more exhausted than usual (I have pre-existing conditions that can cause fatigue/sleepiness). I didn't really think about the other symptoms until my doctor started asking me questions.
I'm only 32, but I have smoked on and off since I was 19. So I am at risk. I'm probably overreacting, but I am scared.
Did anyone else have chest/back pain like this as a primary symptom?
Thanks!
Hi silver girl
To be honest with you, I would have to say no, I did not have any chest pain pre diagnoses, all my aches and pains are due to my treatment and not my cancer.
