Hello everyone I am extremely nervous and scared for my life. To make a long story short I had some stomach pains so I was directed to get ct scan of my stomach. Everything was clear except that they found a 4 mm nodule on the lower lobe. I then did a chest ct scan and they found 3 more around the same size with one being around 2 mm with one my right lung and two in the upper lobe and one in the lower lobe. I know this can’t be lung cancer but is this most likely a metastasized tumor maybe from colon cancer? I’ve never had pneumonia, bronchitis, you name it. I went to a gastrointestinal doctor and he said my stomach issues were most likely IBS and I’m too young to have colon cancer. Please can someone give me any incite as to what these lung nodules can be?!? My pulmonologist wants me to get checked in 12 months, however the radiologist wants me to get checked in 3. Thank you!
P.S my doctor never said anything about calcified or non-calcified or anything like that.Â
I'm not sure from your description what you've been told exactly. Your lymph system, which covers your whole body, is full of lymph glands  (also called nodules), which is absolutely normal. There's only a problem if these nodules have become cancerous. If the hospital thought there was any sign that this was the case they would be doing more tests very quickly and then starting treatment. They certainly wouldn't be asking you to wait for 3 months, let alone a year. It seems to me that maybe you are just too anxious to hear what the doctors are saying to you, or they aren't explaining clearly enough or a bit of both. It would be a good idea to see your GP and ask them to explain what the CT scans actually mean. Your GP should in any case get a letter from the hospital with the scan results. If possible go to any hosp or GP apps with a relative or reliable friend. I'm not a doctor but I think you are worrying unnecessarily.
Thank you JMA,
Nobody has suggested that my GP would have my scan results. If someone at the hospital had mentioned this I might have saved several weeks of stress wondering what the status is.
Thank you for your help again,
