My 76 year old husband has Stage4 lung cancer and Stage4 prostate cancer. He had immunotherapy and chemotherapy initially but has had immunotherapy only for the past year. About 6 months ago he started having severe pain in his thigh . Anti inflammatory medication helped but his kidney function was adversely affected. An MRI scan indicated inflammation in the muscle but a blood test showed no increase in creatinine kinase.
He would prefer not to use morphine based pain killers but paracetamol and cocodamol are not controlling the pain.
Is it common for immunotherapy to cause muscle pain and are there other pain relief options? He only has 2 more sessions left.
