Hi
Was diagnosed with stage 1 adenocarcinoma in lower left lobe and had a lobectomy four weeks ago. Recovering well but yesterday was told that there were traces of cancer in the lymph nodes samples they took and it's now stage 3a.
I am waiting for my local team to call me tomorrow with more information but can I ask if anyone else has had this sort of news?
Thanks Jill B
Hi I’m so sorry to hear your news it’s a lot to take in right now but try to do one step at a time. They will give you an appointment to discuss things in detail and adjust your treatment accordingly. Trust in the process there are so many treatments that work now. And personally with a stage 4 terminal diagnosis staying positive has worked wonders for me not always easy but definitely makes a difference. Keep us informed it’s good to share and it stops you feeling alone.
Thank you for your advice, it's easy to feel alone in going through this. I'm not brilliant at not knowing what's going on, but I do need to trust the professionals. Good luck with your journey x
hi , I hope your appointment went okay. This happened to me was told they had caught it early stage 2 and after the op went to 3a (found in lymph nodes). I went on to have 4 rounds of chemo cisplatin and vinorelbin. I have had 2 years of follow up scans so far and showing as clear. So even though it's jumped I still have had good news.
Hi Jill
Hope you’ve had the call you were waiting for. As and when you’re ready were here for you
Hi, that's good to hear - not been contacted by the oncology team to discuss treatment yet, but hopefully shouldn't be too long
Bless you thought they were calling this week. Hopefully you’ll hear tomorrow you may even end up with an appointment not a call. The waiting around for calls appointments etc is the worse bit lovely but you can do it. Keeping everything crossed for you
hopefully you get to hear soon, the nurse specialist should also be available for you to talk to as well. please reach out if you need anything. xx
Yes I had two calls last week but they turned out to be duplicate calls to give me the surgery results, totally confused the surgeon as he didn't know anyone else from his team was ringing me! Thank you for your support x
Hello Jill, sorry I'm late responding, I've been away.
I had surgery (right lung removed) and restaged T2AN1M0 after pathology examination of the offending lung so then had cisplatin and vinorelbine like Sweets_69. That was in 2014 and I'm still OK so there's hope for all on this pathway.
I wish you all the best for similar success.
