I picked him up and was surprised to see how drowsy he was. He’s not stopped being drowsy and says he feels worse today.
I’m sure he’s had temperatures but he won’t let me take it as he’s said he’s not going back to hospital. He found it quite tortuous despite him being in his own room with patio doors to a garden. It was the beeping from his drip which basically went off for 45 mins each hour because the nurses were so busy with other patients.
He’s lost a lot of weight and isn’t wanting to eat his dinner tonight. He’s drinking ok.
He has a cold but is taking his antibiotics. He’s really weak and clearly still has a chest infection we’re not sure is going to clear up in the next two days, which is how many pills he has.
Has anyone else experienced this weakness and fatigue, so much so that he’s dropping off during conversations?
He has nearly no energy at all and finds walking anywhere in the house a chore and it takes a huge effort. He’s very breathless but better than at the hospital.
I’m not sure what I can do to help him. His crp when he left the hospital was 200+ whereas earlier on in the week it was 500+. He’s on 2 x antibiotics one of which they switched the morning he was discharged which is worrying me is not working.
He’s extremely moody and clearly has been traumatised by the hospital experience.
He also had low haemoglobin and had two transfusions before he left the hospital. The level was a high 80+ when he left.
Any advice? He won’t let me call the ward.
Hi Delilah27 I am sorry to hear about your husband. I am going to be very blunt now, so I do apologise in advance. You know your husband better than anyone, and if your gut feeling is telling you there is something wrong, then there probably is! Sepsis is not something to take chances with. He does not need to go back into hospital, but he clearly needs someone to check him over. Please do call 111 and get their advice. They can arrange for a GP to call and check him over. I know this may go against what your husband wants, but a call now could prevent him from going back into hospital later!
