Shortened radiotherapy?

Hi all,

Granddad's initial plan was 11/04-08/05, 20 sessions over 20 days - however, a plan he was given by reception the other day has 11/04-01/05? They're going to enquire about it today, it may be an error - but has anyone had their treatment length shortened, and why?

He is tolerating the treatment really well, no side effects just some tiredness which I think a lot of that is related to the forwards and backwards to the hospital everyday!

Hi Katie

Is it possible that your Grandad's radiotherapy is also happening at weekends? That would be 20 days.

I had a weekend session when I had mine.

Best people to ask are the radiotherapists.

I wish your Grandad well with his treatment. I also found it tiring going to the hospital each day.

Hi Jane,

No just weekdays! They've been this morning and the new plan of 11/04-01/05 is correct, however, the "the doctor has decided" is the only explanation they have had! Which sounds positive but a little more information would also help!
