August last year I had cancer removed lobectomy right lung just recently had a scan then a month later saw the consultant I have no bad news for you he said . Something a little fuzzy on your left side that I’m not concerned about . A month later I received the copy of the letter that was sent to my GP and there are named issues in this letter . She has a small enlarged paraesophageal lymph nodes which are likely to be reactive and a follow up was suggested for 3 to 6 months to ensure resolution. She has a stable left lung ground glass opacity which would require a follow up

can anyone with knowledge of this explained to me what I’m looking at

regards

  • Hello Dito,

I suspect the words used are "medical speak" which often sound alarming to us because we don't understand the meaning, so would continue to be encouraged if the consultant told you there was no bad news.

However, I would also be worried to see the letter and think the best way to deal with this is to contact your consultant's secretary and/or your CNS to ask for clarification in plain english. It's important to put your mind at rest so you can continue your recovery and get on with life.

    All the best, Derek.
