Hi Mat007 I am so sorry to hear your news. I how now scary those words incurable are. But being incurable does not mean you are not treatable, and there are a few of us here in this group who have been incurable but treatable for several years. Lung cancer treatment has come such a long way in recent years, and there are new treatments coming out all the time. I know you are scared, the thought of chemotherapy is very daunting, but the team will support you through all of this, and there are anti sickness drugs etc that will help you through.
At the end of the day, only you can decide whether to give treatment a go, but your team would not be offering it to you if they didn’t think it would help.
Have you spoke to anyone in your family about this, or a close friend maybe. You can also call the Macmillan support line on 0808 808 00 00. They are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm.
Thank you all for the messages of support I hope you all are well, I was very much in shock yesterday I had so many thoughts and questions running through my mind, I wasn't aware they could treat you for that long as soon as they said incurable i think my mind just assumed I didn't have long, thank you for putting my mind at rest definitely going to do the treatment, again thank you for all your messages
A big thankyou Chelle your words have even given me more hope thank you good days and bad days it will all be worth it xx
