Hi I have been diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer and am waiting to see if I can have immunotherapy, my pain is very bad and I am finding it difficult to get the dose of morphine right. Has anybody else had trouble controlling the pain?
it does not help the anxiety I think a viscous circle is happening.
Thanks in advance
Hi Jazzy1 I am sorry to hear you are struggling with pain. Please do reach out to your medical team to discuss this with them, no one should be in pain.
Anxiety can certainly play a big part. I will pop a link below to an information sheet that you may find helpful.
Hello Jazzy I too have been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Im finding i have pain in my calf muscles which can be quite unbearable at times, nothing i find seems to help. We can't take ibrophren or anti inflammitary meds. Ive asked my oncologists about physio, im waiting to hear back from them, i can let you know what they say if you would like. I do wish you all the best on your journey.
Hi my cancer nurse does not like me taking ibuprofen she wants me to take paracetamol which I do with the morphine but if it gets really bad I do take nurofen I think they worry about upsets if you take too much.
iv just come back from oncologist and I can have immunotherapy which seems to be a good thing, nice to have good news for a change, good luck to you with everything
I didnt think of that, I will leave a message with his secretary. Thank you
Hi
I was advised not to take anti inflammatry as it can effect the electinib, but i will ask.
Thank you
Oh thank you that’s very interesting I will look into that.x
Hi jazzy I to am the same stage 4 right lung cancer diagnosed 2yrs ago after 4 trips to gp and 3 to a&e 2mri scans and 2 ct scans it finally got diagnosed I have nearly finished 2 yrs immunotherapy I have found 2 x 30mg morphine slow release tablets plus oralmorph as and when plus 6 gabapentin have helped with the pain and I can use my right arm with me the pain is nerve pain the tumor is attached to the nerves, hope this helps.
Can I ask what your symptoms were please? I do not have a diagnosis but I do have quite a lot of symptoms and I have been to the GP several times, have also presented at A&E 3x, during which I had 2 x chest x-rays and 1 CTPA with contrast, which they've said were all clear.
I've just had another chest x-ray yesterday after going back to the GP, as my symptoms haven't improved and I've now started with some pain. I'm very worried that they're missing something.
