After a second CT scan the doctor says there is a small amount of fluid around my heart and in my lung. This has occured in less than two weeks.
I now am waiting for a biopsy which will take 4-6 weeks before knowing the next steps
Hi Johnwhu I am sorry to hear this, I hope biopsy is back quicker than they have estimated so you can start treatment. What a worrying time for you whilst you wait. Remember the Macmillan support line is open 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm if you need to chat to someone. 0808 808 00 00.
Hi Chelle
Thank you for the support. Having read you story, you're an inspiration!
Thank you both. Can I just say that last week it was 10 years since I got the phone call to say I had lung cancer. Myself and my husband spent the day in reflection, remembering what it was like right back at the beginning and how scared we both were. Terrified in fact.
Being a champ has given me the opportunity to support people, but also to share my story to hopefully encourage others to see that although today may seem bleak, tomorrow may be brighter.
Keep chasing that rainbow.
Hi Johnwhu,
a couple of months ago I had exactly the same thing, I went for an echocardiogram 6 weeks after it was found, the result was it had gone away itself which I was told is not uncommon, so please stay positive and my fingers are crossed for you, all the best
Donna
