Jim finished his chemo and radiotherapy towards the end of March. He is doing well, and has gained weight. Results of his CT scan showed no spread and a small area which is less than half the size of the original tumour. They don't know if this is just scar tissue, or is scar tissue plus a small amount of the tumour still there. He has been referred for Immunotherapy with Durvalumab. This will be every 3 weeks for a year.
The worry I have is that this treatment can cause very severe side effects and my husband has other medical conditions such as vascular disease and AF. Does anyone here have experience of this treatment, and how it affected you. We have to make a decision and I am at my wits end as to what to do.
Hi, I had chemo and radiotherapy then went on to immunotherapy, same drug as they have offered Jim. I have mine every 28 days and finish in August. Apart from I tire easily it has been fine and my lung cancer is reacting to the treatment which was great news.
Good luck whatever you decide

I had immunotherapy with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) not Durvalumab. I did it every 4 weeks for two years with positive results. I also have vascular disease I suffered no side effects whatsoever. I have read that Durvalumab has better results. From my experience Jim should have no problem with treatment. Hang in there it will be fine.
