Dear all,
can someone please tell me why the hospice nurses are not keen on steroids ? The consultant put him on high dose and then hospice nurse halved them. He is good on 2 mg the last four days but already they want to reduce them.
He has had no treatment at all as he has been told that his remaining time will be ruined by treatment.
I understand this but I’m genuinely worried about the steroids. Why do they want to reduce them so fast.
don’t protect me just state the truth if you know what the issue is.
Thanks
M
I dont know much about sreroids but i am on 8mg Dexamethasone these ease the pressure on the brain tumouurs hellping relieve headaches and flashing, they come with so many nasty side effects including little sleep weigt gain indigestion plus many more maybe this holds an answer to your question, i am waiting for stereotactic radiotherapy to try and give me a few more months and the steroids are essential for that
Goodluck for the future
