My wife was diagnosed with NSCLC in November. The size was 4cm in the top lobe with 2 lymph nodes affected. This was to be treated with 28 radical radiochemo sessions.
Today she was told that it has spread to the lung lining and this changes everything.
It is now palliative radiotherapy for 10 sessions and then they will re access it. The oncologist does not have much hope for a good outcome.
This floored us as we were sure of a successful treatment.
Has anyone here had this or heard of lung cancer spreading to the lining and what was the prognosis?
Hi Ukkram I am sorry to hear that your wife’s cancer is now in the lung lining.
I can think of one lady in our group who has had the cancer spread to the pleura after radiotherapy. She had some immunotherapy and is doing well now on a drug trial.
Drug trials can be something to consider once all other treatments have stopped, but I hope this will be a long way off for your wife yet. I hope your wife has a good result from the radiotherapy.
By me replying here your post will be bumped to the top, so hopefully somebody else who has experience of this can come and chat with you.
Thank you for the uplifting post. I'll read it to my wife.
