Hi all,
My Dad has been called to the hospital for this results this afternoon, I'm petrified, is the normal when discussing results and treatment plans?
Thanks
Hi Essex1, I know how scared you must be feeling right now, such a horrible time for you and your family.
In the old days, pre Covid I mean, then yes we were asked to go into the hospital for results and treatment plans. This would usually be after a MDT meeting is held with the consultant and other medical professionals, who all discuss the many test results and decide together the best treatment plan for that patient. Some people are told the same day as the MDT, so this will not be unusual. Since Covid all hospitals are doing things differently. Some are only doing telephone appointments, some are still doing face to face appointments, especially for the first diagnoses consultation.
The waiting is horrid isn't it. I hope you manage to try and keep busy whilst you wait hear. Please let us know how he gets on.
