Told that my PVL1 tests are back & 100% good.

I'm currently on Chemo GemCarbo, but will this PVL1 result help treatments?

I’m sorry for not knowing but what is PVL1 ?? Something to do with immunotherapy compatibility??
thanks and sorry for not being any help :-(

  • Think it is to do with Immunotheropy, but I am looking for further information.

  • Hi johnoo

I think what you are enquiring about is PDL-1. I cannot provide the information you are looking for as it is quite complicated but simply put, they check for PDL-1 in your biopsy to see if you will respond to immunotherapy ( it’s something to do with the protein in cells). They are looking for a level of over 50% preferably as this gives a better response to immunotherapy, obviously the higher it is the better the response. I had PDL-1 of over 90% and I did have a good response to my treatment, which for me was a first line treatment. Immunotherapy can be given if PDL-1 is lower but it may mean the response may not be as good although it doesn’t mean it won’t work. It also gives them an idea of which immunotherapy to use.

Thats the best I can do unfortunately. I may have taken you down the wrong path as I have never heard of PVL so just check and if so I apologise.
