Hi all! I have a meningioma in the left parietal lobe. I have been on watch and wait scans for the last few years. My tumour seems to grow 1-2mm per year and is now 3cm. I was wondering how large tumours are when they require surgery? I had a spinal cord tumour that was 2cm; this was removed last year. I don’t have significant symptoms from the meningioma. Any thought would be much appreciated!
Hi Bernto and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I can't help with your question, as I have a different type of cancer, but I noticed that your post hasn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.
If you don't get any replies from the other members of the group you could post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to reply within 3 working days. If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.

Hello Bernto
I have the same meningioma as well as another behind my right eye. Diagnosed in 2016 and also been on watch and wait.
I had a recent MRI and told that although it hasn't grown since last Aug, that for me to received Stereotactic radiotherapy at 3cm it needs to be now, and I'm waiting for this to start next week. It will be 5 treatments over 10 alternate days. This is to help reduce any swelling.
As a carer I feel they have chosen this as hopefully it's the least invasive on my life.
As your's is at 3cm and based upon what my consultant said about mine at 3cm, it might be worth speaking to your consultant and asking the question rather than leaving it too much longer.
Hope this is of help.
Hi Harbin,
How have you been since you finished treatment?
I have a meningioma behind my right eye over 3cm and have recently had 6 week of radiotherapy. I am struggling with my vision and often have migraines which I was suffering with before treatment. I also have permanent double vision because of the damage to my nerves. I haven’t found a medication that helps with my vision problems as of yet, which has has been hard. Do you have any symptoms and how are you managing?
Looking forward to hearing from you, Iris
