I have been almost totally deaf in one ear and suffered considerable levels of tinnitus.
I have noticed recently that the tinnitus is less invasive and I now have a low level of hearing is it usual for the hearing to make some recovery or is this going to be short lived
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
That's great to hear that your tinnitus is less noticeable than before but I can't help with your questions about whether this will be short lived or not. This isn't my usual group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any response.
I typed 'tinnitus' into the search bar in this group, to see if there were any previous posts on the subject, but unfortunately there are only a couple. You could do the same, if you haven't already, and see if any of the posters mention whether they recovered their hearing or not.
If you can't find what you're looking for in the group, you could post your question in the Ask a Nurse section of the community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to respond within 2 working days.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
