Hi I was recently diagnosed with a secondary tumour in my liver. I had surgery four weeks ago to have it removed. It was found at a routine scan after having a tumour in my rectum last year. I have had radiotherapy and chemotherapy last year. Just wondering v if anyone been in this position, did they have more chemo ? How are they etc ?

  • Hi

I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Replying to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this in the bowel cancer group, which I can see you're a member of, as I'm sure you'll find people there who can help with your questions.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi

If you click on my user name you can read my mum’s story with a colon tumour spread to her liver . After a rather large resection 73% she did not have post op chemotherapy but that was back in 2010 . Practice may have change but thankfully her liver has remained clear since then and functions well .

All the best with your recovery.
