Sent home July 2020 on palliative care ..still alive waited til January 2022 for hospital appt Kings …anyone else left stranded?

  • Hi I just dropped by, I'm not from this group, and noticed you've not had a reply as yet. This is a very quiet forum so I'm sorry you've not had an answer.

I find it hard to believe no-one's been in touch with you since July 2020! If I was you I'd phone my Consultant or his secretary and ask why there's been no contact. There again I've become a pushy person whereas before my cancer I'd have sat back and accepted everything they'd told me, now I question everything!

Give the Macmillan Support Helpline a call and have a chat to a nurse, freephone number is shown below.

    Sending hugs, B xx

  • Thanx ..I looked again to see if someone around….  I see the Roy T Bennett quote

about “storms make people stronger and never last forever”

thanx so much Roy…load of rubbish ….never lose hope? Give me a break sanctimonious rubbish if I dare say …oh I did !!

  • Hi  Your post quite upset me I have to confess. I adopted the quotation when I became a Champ as I thought it relevant. Now 11 months later I'm not so sure having just been given the news last week my cancer has returned and spread pretty much everywhere so at the moment I'm in a bad place. But I'm not giving up or feeling sorry for myself, I've got to be positive as I might only have months left, certainly not multiples of years!

So if you feel neglected, make phone calls and pester until you get somewhere, don't sit back, get on the case.

    B xx
