Mum has had 6 rounds of chemo and is really suffering with a cetuximab rash all over her face .

This is really knocking her confidence and making her last months harder than ever and am trying to reach out for any advise anyone has got to help my poor mam

  • Hi . I'm so sorry to see no-one's been along to answer your post as yet. I'm also sorry to read about what your Mum's going through with her rash caused by Cetuximab. I've no experience of this particular treatment but I would advise you contact her CNS on an urgent basis to get some relief.

You could also ask the advice of a nurse on the Macmillan support helpline, freephone number shown below.

  • I did type Cetuximab into the search bar at the top of this page and quite a few answers came up including you could get her Oncologist to refer her to a Dermatologist.

  • Hopefully this is sorted now, but when I was on cetuximab I got the acne on my face and chest too. I ended up taking a low dose of antibiotics (one a day) and using a steroid cream for a few days to calm it down. Once it was under control it didn't flare up too badly at any point during the 3 months I was on it.

I hope your mum is getting to enjoy as much of life as she can
