Hello, I'm new here, my mum has recently been diagnosed with liver cancer

My mum was diagnosed with liver cancer a couple of weeks ago.  Since then she has had a PET CT Scan and biospy.  She has been told that the earliest appointment to discuss the results is August.  I have said that I understand the pressures the NHS is under but this is ridiculous.  If anyone can share their experience of their wait to discuss their results and what is 'usual' I'd be grateful.  I am thinking we may have to make an appointment to see the consultant in their private clinic but this doesn't seem right.  Thanks
