Hi there - I’m new to the group - well joined a month or so ago and finding the courage to post! I was diagnosed with primary liver cancer back in May and stage 4 as it’s spread to lymph nodes. My consultant is hopeful of a cure and this is what I’m working towards. I had no symptoms prior to my diagnosis so it was and still is a complete shock. I’m looking to connect with others going through the same. I’ve had a bit of a tough journey with chemo but my chemo has changed and I’m starting to have a little routine - albeit very tired!!

Iam from US but many times a palliative nurse can help you with medications to help with this and even to stimulate appetite. They make high calorie nutritional supplement drinks but many take their favorite ice cream and let it melt a little and stir in protein powder for nutrition. Reach out to his Dr . They have stronger anti Nashua meds. He's lucky to have just a thoughtful daughter
Hi Rachael I responded a while ago but I don't see it My husband has had HCC since 2018 . He was under surveillance because 9f cirhossis . So he at first had Ultrasounds then Mri because cirhossis put you at higher risk of liver cancer . So 2018 he had 2 very small 1.1 cm tumors ablated with microwave ablation . This lasted 2 and a half years . Then residual came back on edge of ablated tumor had 3 SBRT radiation treatments . Then went to liver Transplant . He had 15 Yes actual 15 liver offers . Most cardiac death donors but his donor ended up being a brain dead donor . We are FOREVER GRATEFUL TO ALL 15 FAMILIES FOR THEIR UNSELFISH DINATION AT THE MOSR TERRIBLE TIME IN THEIR LIVES . THEIR MEMORY WILL AKWAYS BE WITH OUR FAMILY So he was out of Hospital in 5 days but now has RECURRENT HCC in 1 lymph node right under his brand new excellent working liver . He had that whole ligament dissected and we are hopeful . We are in US and are getting 2nd and 3rd opinions at Mayo Clinic and MD Anderson . Their is so many excellent treatment . Im sure he'll be recommending the combo of Atezolozimab and Bevacizumab because this is the first line therapy and IT IS WORKING EXCELLENTLY. In the US our FDA is letting these combo drugs be approved quicker to help people. I hope you are able to get the best treatment you can get . My husband will probably be put on Lenvima soon to make sure this doesn't come back hopefully. Surgical treatment is always The Best for longest results followed by ablation then all the Tace Tare Radiation . There are soo many Interventional therapies They are doing Proton Radiation HIPEC Injections Right into Tumor They are working on a promising vaccination in clinical trial right now . SO YOU HAVE A LOT OF HOPEFUL OPTIONS . I WISH YOU WELL AND IF I CAN HELP W ANY QUESTIONS .I KNOW THINGS MIGHT WORK DIFFERENTLY WHERE YOU ARE UT I CAN TELL U MY EXPERIENCE.
