3rd cancer

Hi. I'm new to this forum.  My name is Sarah.  I've been told today that I have 4 tumours on my liver. It is thought that they have come from my colon cancer which I was diagnosed with in 2019 and finished chemo in Apr 2020. I've also had breast cancer stage 3 in 2009.

I'm trying very hard to stay positive,  but the chemo for the colon cancer was so horrible,  the thought of going through it all again and so soon is daunting to day the least.

Has anyone else gone through this?

What I really want is someone to day it will be alright. I lost my mum in May so desperately missing her words of comfort.

My family is my rock,  its someone's hard to stay positive  but I do it for them. I'm also a new Granny, in January this year,  so that is helping me as I really love my grandaughter and the thought of 'leaving ' in my 50's is terrible.

Sorry for my moan.  I will get my head round what is what,  but nice to put it down on this forum.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm really sorry to read that you've just been given the news that you have tumours on your liver which are thought to be secondaries from your bowel cancer.

I know what it's like to have had two cancer diagnoses as I was diagnosed with melanoma 6 years ago and then breast cancer earlier this year. I haven't needed any follow-up treatment for the melanoma but I'm currently having chemo for the breast cancer.

If these tumours are secondaries, you might also like to join the secondary liver cancer group and, if this is something that you think might be useful, clicking on the link I've created will take you there where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here.

Again, if this is a secondary to your bowel cancer, you might want to post in the bowel cancer group as you'll find others there willing to share their experiences with you.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
