Hi all.

I am new to the liver cancer forum, but was part of bowel cancer one. Unfortunately my hubby had rectal cancer and recovered quite well after his operation with a few ups and downs, this was in 2021. On his 6 month check up they informed him his cea level was high, and have now detected secondary liver cancer, radiotherapy starts on the 1st of Sept. Has anyone else had radiotherapy and if they did how was it with side effects and how effective was it, unfortunately he is not a good talking and I really don't know where is head is at.

  • Hi

I can't help with any experience of radiotherapy, although I will be having it at some point in the future, but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post yet.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the secondary liver cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have secondary liver cancer. If this is something that you'd like to do clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here.

You'll probably also find that if you post in the bowel cancer group you'll find people there with secondaries who have had radiotherapy.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
