For those who have not seen my profile. I will be 79 next month. In a nutshell I have been diagnosed with Liver cancer November 2022 (8/9cm), in March 2023 was given Radio therapy but did not work, a month later I was put on Immunotherapy, until 15th December 2024 when it was stopped as it has stabilised the lesion and can do no more. In January 2025 I was prescribed SORAFENIB therapy to start Tuesday the 11th of March 2025 (In 4 days !!)
Has anyone here had this therapy and what it is like. I am dreading it because of the side effects: diarrhoea, nausea, tiredness etc..
I was told not everyone gets all side effects ( 1 - in -10 ) apparently.
I was also told there is a small lesion of 1 cm in the upper Liver, apparently not a spreading but a 'satellite' .
As for prognosis I asked if this does not work what's next stop, I was told by the professor who is heading the team: there isn't much else !
I started thinking about it but then thankfully I have the capacity to just forget and going from day- today and if the tablets work don't give me too much grief I hope to go to Mauritius for 10 days or 2 weeks if the team give me the go ahead.
Love to all. As we all are going down the banister of this new reality, may all the splinters be facing down .

Hi Chedly
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
I've done a search in the group to find previous posts which mention sorafenib and found these and, in particular, this one which talks about managing side effects.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Anne, Thank you very much for the advice.
Yes, I have done a brief profile about my liver cancer
I have also read a lot about it, hopefully it's not as bad as I think, and my body can tolerate the side effects. I will see what tomorrow will bring! many thanks

Hi Chedly, I really hope that your new treatment works well for you and that you don't have the side effects. A holiday in Mauritius sounds wonderful and I hope you get there and have a wonderful time. I got the go ahead and the travel Insurance so we are taking the Camper Van to France for 2 weeks in June. My husband has a mens week every year so I am tempted to find the sun rather than stay home but I'm not too sure how I would do. My treatment is still going OK and I've been taking more exercise to help shift some weight. Very best of luck with everything and keep well
Jackie
