Hi, I would like some advice about time scales? My partner had gallbladder/liver cancer 10 years ago, narrowly survived. I was not around then so this is new to me. He is now sick, liver blood clot & they have done mri - eventually & found lesion on his liver. Next is biopsy but they wont give a date or tell us anything. I am getting frustrated at the lack of urgency about everything. Everything we do know & google suggests the absolute worst outcomes - are they not doing the tests or telling us anything because they already know there is nothing they can do for him anyway. He is getting sicker by the day
Hello Lavenderlily
I am Brian one of the Community Champions here . I have noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer however by me responding it will be "bumped" to the top of the page and hopefully be seen and replied to by other Community members on the Liver group.
Delays are part of the Cancer pathway these days and sadly Dr Google is no help. Have you contacted your hospital PALS office? (Patient Advisory and Liaison Service). Tell them of your anxiety with the delay and ask them to take up your case and to see if they can fast track it.
I hope this helps and you get some answers.
Best wishes - Brian.

I am a Macmillan volunteer.
I am based in Scotland and went into A & E on NYE morning. Sent by gp for suspected gallbladder. I left 5 hours later after a CT scan with a secondary liver diagnosis. I have numerous masses across both lobes / 9cm masses also.i was told my treatment was time sensitive and it would be marked urgent. My biopsy is booked forc23rd Jan. I think this first part is slow to get going for all. But when they have their findings I am told thing speed up rapidly. This time of being in limbo is the worst. Try to keep positive as things will be going on in the background.
