Hi i was diagnosed with inoperable liver & lung cancer 4 days ago! Both me and my wife still trying to come to terms with it! It was completely out of the blue! I was told by the consultant that I need biopsies to determine what type of cancer it is so can see what treatment if any is best for me!
My question is can anyone advise me on how long it takes to get a appointment for biopsy? Consultant just said would receive a letter! We are pulling our hair having to wait ! Thanks in advance
Hi the waiting is so frustrating we all know on here what its like. But to answer your question it can be next day or at the most i have waited 3 weeks. Most come in the first two weeks i find. We want them now i know and you are worried its all to slow.I f i can offer any advice it would be find out what type of biopsies you need and contact that department yourself and ask them where you are on the waiting list and dont forget to ask for any cancellations, unfortunatly we as the patient need to keep on top of things and having had this disease for nearly 20 years i know only too well. please dont feel silly or a nuisance to keep on phoning and making yourself heard, its inportant they know you name haha. Good luck ,keep well
