TACE

Hi Everyone,

My father was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer on Wednesday. He had a resection last November but a number of tumours (6) have grown in 2 months. What I am struggling to get my head around is that he looks so well. He is in no pain, not yellow, still working and going out socially. Whilst I’m overjoyed about this, it’s like I have dreamt the last week! He is having TACE next month but has been warned his blood vessels aren’t straight and could be a factor. Is this common?

love to everyone Heart

  • and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses. It could be that no one in this group has had a problem with their blood vessels or just that the right person hasn't seen your post yet.

It might be an idea to post your question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 2 working days.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your father's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Hi Helen

I hope you and your dad are doing ok? My dad was also diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in September. He is having TACE next week and i’ll be looking after him afterwards. My dad also is doing well at the moment, he has a bit of pain under his ribs but that’s about it. Am totally dreading the aftercare as I have no idea what to expect.

Sorry I haven’t got the answer to your question but just thought i’d say hi. And sending lots of healing hugs.

    Love Nikki x
