Hi everyone, I hope it is ok for me to be part of this group. My husband was diagnosed with CML in Oct 2020, he has been on Imatinib & then Dasatanib but unfortunately his bloods haven't had the response his consultant was hoping for so they are applying for the early access to medicine scheme so that he can try asciminib in the hope that it works. I was just wondering if there is anyone on here that has already started on this drug? Many Thanks xx

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your husband's CML hasn't responded to recent treatment but that's great that his consultant has something else to try.

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I've searched the group for previous posts which mention asciminib but drawn a blank I'm afraid. Of course that doesn't mean that no one else is on this drug, just that they haven't posted about it.

As you know the community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've also joined the chronic myeloid leukaemia group. I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post your question there as then you'll be connecting directly with others who have the same type of cancer as your husband.

It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
